Over ReBlend
Wij raakten geïntrigeerd door het feit dat recycling zich richt op pure materialen (100% katoen, wol of polyester). Wat we dragen is meestal een mix van materialen. Het is gemakkelijk in te zien dat hierdoor een enorme kloof ontstaat tussen theorie en werkelijkheid. Onze aanpak is praktisch en pragmatisch. Wat kan er op een verantwoorde manier gedaan worden? – in plaats van een groot deel van het huidige, veelal gemengde textielafval buiten beschouwing te laten.

  • Doe je mee? Ervaar nu zelf hoe circulair textiel kan voelen: ReBlend heeft een handdoek ontwikkeld van 100% cellulose: 82% gerecycled pre-consumer biologisch katoen en de overige 18% Tencel. Met de verkoop van deze mono-materiaal handdoeken organiseren we de financiering voor vervolgonderzoek naar het realiseren van circulair katoen. Doe mee!   • First batch of 57 chairs with fabric made from old Groningen jeans! This batch with our new blue yarns made from mainly denim closes the loop; materials are collected, sorted and made ready for recycling in Groningen by Goudgoed, made to new yarns in Lille/France, woven and used for upholstery by Vepa in the Netherlands and delivered to the Municipality of Groningen. Composition; 75% post consumer jeans + 25% rPET. We are very proud 😁#gemeentegroningen #goudgoed #circulartextiles

The #reblend upholstery fabrics are frontrunning.   • Last week we had a workshop at Alfa college Groningen to built and experiment with open source Hilo spinning machine. This is part of creating a local circular textiles system in the North of the Netherlands. And of course best way to start is with bringing back knowledge of textiles, fibres and textile production. The spinning machines will be used for student classes in the coming season.
